These Arkansas Legislators Have Caught the ‘Digital Fever’!

Updated: Apr 15, 2024

Hey, did you know that a bunch of Arkansas lawmakers are now using “social media” channels—like these things called “Tweets” and “Blogs”— to get the word out about their activities to their constituents and colleagues? It’s true! And we know it because the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, a news-paper, covered it in a big story today!

That’s right! These lawmakers have “caught the digital fever”!

Of course, a lot of us were pretty much aware of this already, because we are sentient human beings. But this timely story was a helpful way for you to catch up on the phenomenom, now that the legislative session is over, if for some reason it had passed you by until now.

Like, say, if you had missed this. Or if you were not aware of this. Or this. Or this. Or this. Or this. Or this. Or this. Or this. Or this. Or this. Or this. Or this. Or this. Or this. Or this. Or this.

I mean, y’know, just for example, if you’d never seen any of those things before, then yes, this Arkansas Democrat-Gazette story was just what you needed to bring you up to speed on this hot new trend that’s taken over the state Capitol.

Oh, and this is probably a good time to let you know that, if you click on that Arkansas Democrat-Gazette link, it will take you to a page where you can’t actually read the story unless you’re a subscriber. Gosh, maybe one day soon the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette will start employing some of these hot new “web communication” technologies I’ve been reading about in their print edition, like in this story today, and I can read a story like this on the Internet!

God I love newspapers. Y’all gonna miss ‘em when they’re gone.

UPDATE: More from Blake’s Think Tank, where a reader wonders why the ADG didn’t look at a more timely issue: how social media networks allowed for more rapid sharing of information during last week’s tornado activity in western Arkansas.
