CFC 'Private' Option Forums Were A Big Success!

Updated: Apr 13

It’s been a busy week for AAI, with Obamacare forums around the state and the special election in Jonesboro, followed by what appears to be the capsizing of the private option in the state Capitol. We were unable to attend Conduit for Commerce’s private-option forums in central and northwest Arkansas, but we’re told they were a big success.

Caitlin Covey of CFC said:

Arkansas Senate and House members, leaders of the Arkansas public, successful small business owners, and doctors all came together at the Physician Forums in Northwest Arkansas and Little Rock. It was great to see so many people from different professional sectors take the same stand – protect health care in Arkansas by defunding the private option. People left excited, encouraged by the crowd’s desire for immediate action and ready to invite even more people to the next two events in February.

Joe Maynard, one of CFC’s founders, added:

One thing we are certain of is that the terms the federal government have required of us are vastly different than the bill’s language that our legislators passed, and they are none too happy about that when they discover the truth about the real private option. We passed something undesirable, then entered into a perverse agreement that none of us would have supported if sold as it has been authorized.

CFC plans to have more forums in Rogers and in Little Rock in February; contact them for further information.
